Combined Shelter and Run for Chickens

A chicken pen coop offers a hybrid living environment of sleeping area as well as a free roam and forage area. While shelter protects from elements and predators, the run gives chickens a space to exercise and display their instincts. This type of pen can be designed with a number of materials like wood for the shelter and wire mesh for the run. Perches, nesting boxes and feeding stations can be added to customize the pen. This particular mix of shelter and run gives a better living condition for the chickens which improves their well being.

The chicken pen coop is a mix of a pen and a coop. The pen allows the chickens to have a place to stretch and search for food while the coop allows easy access for nesting and roosting. Depending on the space available as well as the number of chickens, chicken pen coops can be made in numerous designs. The material is mostly wood with the pen being a wire mesh. For the safety of the chickens, the pen should be well fenced to keep out predators while the coop should be easy to clean and well ventilated

common problem

What are the differences between a chicken pen coop and a regular chicken coop?

A chicken coop for chickens should provide 2-4 feet for eating, and 8-10 feet in the run. It also requires nesting boxes for chicken eggs, roosting bars for sleeping, an adequate space for proper ventilation, and protection from extreme weather and predators.
When designing a chicken pen coop, make sure the coop has proper ventilation, nesting boxes, and roosting bars. To keep fiercer animals away, the pen should be robustly fenced. Also, provide access to water and shade. It's also a good idea to put some perches in the pen so the chickens can hold on to a perch while resting.

User evaluation of the product

Daniel

The chicken pen coop I have is a good solution for my chickens. Set up is a breeze, and there is a safe area for the chickens to enjoy outside. The pen is constructed out of a strong wire mesh that prevents wildlife from entering. It also has a roof that shields the chickens from both the sun and rain. The one thing I would change is putting in more shade. But overall, it's an ideal way to let my chickens get some fresh air.
